2021 has finally arrived and, while waiting for everything to improve, we continue to tell you beautiful stories of our brides who have gotten married in times of Covid.
On this occasion, the wedding of Cristina and Marco, two Madrilenians who, after five years of dating, decided to get married on 16th of May, 2020. However, they had to postpone their marriage to September, keeping the illusion intact because they wanted to celebrate their wedding and live that moment full of happiness with their loved ones.
Cristina tells us that «it was a long-awaited wedding and, at the same time, it was lived with uncertainty until the last moment, because of the changes in the regulations due to Covid-19, but the day finally came and we promised to enjoy it all to the maximum”.
On 16th of May, the first chosen date, it dawned rainy and cold. However, on Friday 20th of September, the day they could finally choose to say “yes, I do,” the sun was shining without too much heat. A perfect afternoon for which “all the suppliers did their part to make this change possible and adapt to the new situation and regulations”, explains Cristina.
For this special and unique day, Cristina chose the Capricho model, a mermaid silhouette wedding dress from the Mimí collection by Valerio Luna. After trying on countless models in different stores, she arrived at Valerio Luna’s store, on Castelló street in Madrid, accompanied by her mother and sister, “the two people who know me best and have accompanied me in everything,” she confesses.
Cristina came with a clear idea, she dreamed of a mermaid-style wedding dress with sleeves. When she tried on the Capricho model, she knew it was hers, that it was what she had been looking for so long, “it fit me like a glove, with a spectacular and different back, I finally found MY DRESS!”
In our Valerio Luna store in Madrid, Cristina and her family felt like at home and were very excited thanks to our team, who encouraged her and kindly aresolved all her doubts. Without a hitch, she customized her wedding dress, shortening the sleeves to make them French style.
This long-awaited wedding began with nerves, passion and a lot of feeling. Cristina explains to us that “while we were preparing to leave for the Hermitage of the Virgen del Puerto, my parents, my sister and I began to believe that there would really be a wedding, after so many changes and uncertainty.” A memory that Cristina will never forget was her meeting with her beloved one, “I have no words to describe the entrance to the Hermitage, with Marco, my future husband, waiting for me at the altar. He was very handsome and radiated happiness.”
When you are longing for that moment of your life, for which you have deposited so much illusion and that you have organized with so much energy, to arrive, such as your wedding day, and due to external circumstances, like the ones we are living today, you have to restructure and to postpone, when it finally arrives, you live it all with more emotion. «We shed the occasional tear during the ceremony, especially when our brothers dedicated some words to us. We enjoyed the celebration like never before, and the day simply flew by. At the end, we were left wanting more. We would repeat without hesitation, because it was one of the happiest days of our lives.
We are also moved by Cristina’s words. Our most sincere congratulations to Cristina & Marco, for many years of happiness.
