Marta Bracho tied the knot the last 10th of October of 2015: “those days were the best”, she says. She told us so many things, all of them so exciting that we couldn´t help sharing them with you. And, if you are a romantic, you will just love them.
“I was so happy organizing everything for my wedding day! My mom, my mother in law, my grandma and I did everything! My grandma has the Altzheimer’s disease so keeping her busy wasn´t easy because she kept forgetting everything. And every five minutes I had to explain to her I was getting married and also what tasks she had to do for helping. But it was so exciting having her! I know she enjoyed it too”.
I am sincere when I tell you that Higar Novias wasn´t on my list, although it was the first place I wen´t because my sister booked an appointment there.
I wanted my dress to be different and I perfectly knew the design. It was exactly the design that Higar Novias made for me. At first, I thought that Higar Novias was just a common shop with bridal dresses catalogues and that you can only choose a dress from them.
When I arrived to the shop I got fascinated and just in front of so many dresses I knew I was in the correct place. Loli was my shop assistant and she soon knew what I was looking for. Five minutes later I had my dream wedding dress. My dress didn´t exist on the catalogue, but that wasn´t a problem. They had to do a new pattern with the design I wanted. I was truly happy and I recommend every bride to come to Higar Novias.
I just adored the dress you tailored me. If I get married again, I will get married wearing a Higar Novias dress.
Apart from the dress, I bought a veil and a petticoat. I wanted to wear the veil my auntie wore on her wedding day, but it wasn´t in good conditions, so I had to find one similar and she bought it for me. The reason I wanted to wear my auntie´s veil is because my auntie and my uncle are a couple full of love, who have been through a lot and they are still together. It would make me feel very secure. With my veil I want to get done a canopy for my baby´s cot. It will represent the best present that our bond has given us.
My sisters gave as a wedding present the wedding bouquet. It also had a brouche with my grandad´s picture on it. I consider my grandad my angel and he was with me that day. When my grandma saw the brooch she started crying. It was a very touching moment. All of us were soaping and we felt like he was with us that day.
When we entered the venue, my uncles and my cousins were by our side making a path while we were walking by. They were wearing a morning coat. Everything was fantastic. I also helped with the decoration, but I never thought it would be that beautiful. I was with my head in the clouds. Seeing all these people together is something I will never forget. When the groom saw me, he started crying and he could not stop for the whole day. That moment has been the best of my life.
My husband and I were predestinated to be together for ever. We were born the same day, the same year. Our love story is that kind of story that every mum says when two babies are born within seven hours of difference. They used to say: “These two will be boyfriend and girlfriend”. Each of us lived theirs lives and after 22 years and with our birthday date close, we met again.
We got married the closest weekend to our birthday date. And we celebrated it during our honeymoon. We travelled to Thailand, Laos, Maldives and Dubai.
The ceremony was very emotive and all the guests cried. The venue was a beautiful place with a fountain sorrounded by bushy plants with my favourite song- “La vita è bella”– playing as background music. Our niece did a reading taken from the book “Le Petit Prince”; she couldn´t help crying when she saw everybody in their tears; she couldn´t even finish her reading. Afterwards and as a surprise for the groom, I read something I wrote the night before when I couldn´t sleep because of my nerves. I swear him love for ever.

I want to have a family with you and have a home with you and of course to have two children: Lola and Antoñito

And I want to finish saying that when time goes by and we are elder I will tell you “Do you see, Mendo, how you are the love of my life?”
“My wedding day was like a fairy tale and even my Prince Charming was there. Everything was perfect and my guests really enjoyed each detail.”
